Our Offering

UNA began life back in 1997 when it was then known as UNITAS. It was very simply based around a common value and purpose: to put our customers and staff at the centre of our businesses under our mantra of

All Together Better

Today, our 5 Members control over £500M of UK retail GWP with nearly 1,200 members of staff from over 20 locations throughout the UK. 

UNA is wholly owned by its Membership and is a non-profit making organisation.   Overseen by its Board of Directors, one from each of its member brokers, UNA is seen as an insurance industry force to be reckoned with.

Operationally, the Project Groups are at the heart of UNA and assist members to grow their businesses, achieve sustainability and deal with the increasingly technical aspects of the insurance industry.

To meet the changing needs of the market place, these project groups evolve and alter over time.  For this year, the groups are:-

Who We Are...

In addition to UNA’s Board of Directors, UNA Central Office is the hub of the organisation and ensures that Members, Project Groups, Partners and all other relationships are managed effectively.

Tim Ryan, Executive Chairman

Tim took over the role of Executive Chairman over a decade ago. He brings a sales and marketing direction to the Alliance as well as ensuring the agreed strategy is executed by all parties. 

A family man at heart, he enjoys an active social life, his four children, golf and motor sport but not necessarily in that order!

 

 

 

Catherine Bragington, Operations Manager

Having been seconded as a fresh faced graduate trainee to assist with the development of UNITAS, Catherine has remained with the organisation ever since. Involved in all facets of the Alliance, she ensures that all the strands of the organisation work closely together for the wider benefit of all.

Away from work, she loves travel and sport, although in reality, that pretty much means running around and taxi-ing her 2 children.

 

 

Bruce Millington, Placement & Schemes Manager

With over 40 years of broker/insurer experience, Bruce joined the central team in 2020, from founding UNA member Sutton Winson. 

He brings his wealth of knowledge to the Alliance. Having previously been our Placement Group chair, Bruce has built strong relationships across our members and partner insurers.

Bruce is a keen cyclist and enjoys campervan travels around the UK
